As you sail towards Nantucket, the Brant Point lighthouse comes into view, a sign that you’ve arrived at one of the most stunning places in the world: Nantucket Harbor is located at 85 Bartlett. In just a few moments, you can be in town from your mooring, either with the harbor launch or via the complimentary dinghy docks.
Nantucket Moorings was founded in 1978 and is still going strong, thanks to its proprietor Tim Reinemo and the assistance of his father, Karsten Reinemo. Tim has been an integral part of the Nantucket maritime scene for most of his life, and his expertise is essential to the business’s success. Together, they provide a unique and enjoyable experience of the local waters.
Nantucket Harbor has 125 moorings waiting to be filled, and boats up to 85′ in length can be accommodated. As you sail close to Brant Point lighthouse, call them on Channel 68 VHF; they will meet you and guide you to your reserved mooring. It’s best to make reservations in advance. Daily moorings may be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can call to make a reservation or ask a question; just get all the contact information you need on their website.
At the start of each Spring, they will set your mooring in its special spot, and as Fall approaches, they will haul it out of the harbor. Winter storage and an annual inspection of your ball and ground gear are also provided. They will keep you in the loop if any repairs or services are recommended. Their Full-service package includes all of this, ensuring that you can rest easy knowing your mooring is in the best hands.
Also, the harbor’s gentle breeze and tranquil waters are perfect for a pleasant swim when the day is done. Enjoy the serenity of this idyllic paradise, and you’ll soon understand why Nantucket is one of the most beloved destinations in the world.
