The Whale will undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the Nantucket culinary scene.
Are you wondering, “How did they come up with that name?” Herman Melville was conflicted between two names for his famous American book: “Moby Dick; or, The Whale.” Most people knew it by the former, but they chose the latter.
This cafe, bar, and outdoor terrace will be open seven days a week, offering lunch, supper, and weekend brunch, and will be located in a historic structure on Main Street. The Whale, led by Jamie Lee Nass, Emily Kelly, and Chef Manny Rojas, is the ideal setting for al fresco dining in downtown Nantucket. Enjoy delicious food at their professionally furnished venue—either indoors or out!
Whether it’s for breakfast and lunch in the dining room that was recently renovated, cocktails and appetizers at the oak bar that seats 22, or a birthday celebration on the magnificent outdoor patio and garden, alternatively, The Whale provides a number of locations in which to enjoy our casual American bistro meals.
If you don’t have time for breakfast in the morning, stop by our to-go counter to pick up some coffee and one of Manny’s daily doughnuts to take with you.
