Over 45 years ago, a small store named Pam Lerner Jewelry was situated on the corner of Beacon and Centre Street in Newton Center. A 23-year-old girl from New York, Pam, started her career in the jewelry business by selling gold chains and her own pieces to women in the beauty parlor. Pam’s eye for style was so impressive that others began asking for the jewelry she was wearing, and she gladly obliged.
Not long after, a very pregnant Pam asked her brother George, who was making jewelry in California, for help. The store assumed a much larger life, now known as Pageo – a combination of Pam and George’s names.
Twenty-five years ago, they opened another shop on the Island of Nantucket, located between historic buildings on Main Street. Pageo quickly became a favorite among locals, tourists, and celebrities alike. The store offers a full range of jewelry services and is one of the top jewelry destinations on the island.
In 2020, Pageo expanded to a digital website featuring highly acclaimed jewelry designers. In addition, the store locations continue to create custom pieces for their clients.
At Pageo, they strive to ensure that their customers are happy with their experience. Pam and George take pride in seeing the familiar faces of those who have visited them since the small store, as well as the new faces of those who have just discovered them. This beloved family business continues to provide loyal service to all its customers.
