Wicked Island is an exciting dine-in and take-out spot at 7 Bayberry Court in mid-island Nantucket. It stands out in an area populated with dining spots thanks to its famed breakfast dishes.
The unconventional name choice and smiling morning sun logo have a befitting connotation to the bakery’s scrumptious food.
Wicked Island was established in 2013 by partner couple Ben & Heather Woodbury, who have decades of experience in the restaurant industry.
Ben is the bakery’s Executive Chef, while Heather is the General Manager. The bakery has staff on hand to serve customers quickly and efficiently.
The local business opens all week, between 6:30 am and 2:00 pm on weekdays and 7:00 am and 12:00 pm on weekends.
The diner’s interior houses the commercial kitchen and in-store pickup counter, while the umbrella-shaded outdoor seating is provided for customers having their food on the premises. Free Wi-Fi is offered within the facility.
The building has an adjacent parking space and a dedicated parking slot for disabled customers.
Wicked Island prides itself in producing only wholesome foods from scratch using specific natural ingredients such as pure butter and Belgian Chocolate to achieve a unique taste.
Its breakfast dishes are made in limited quantities to ensure the food is hot and fresh. Customers may have to wait up to half an hour if they find their desired food has run out.
The authentic menu includes the restaurant’s signature Morning bun and coffee. Other delicacies include fruity and spicy doughnuts, muffins, croissants, bread, cakes, tortes, sandwiches, eggs, cheese, bacon, sausages, and pizza.
Wicked Island regularly prepares special dishes on holidays and updates customers beforehand on its blog and socials. Dishes on the holiday menu include cheesecakes, pies, pumpkin, turkey, and desserts.
Wicked Island Bakery has a website that features the restaurant’s menu and contact details. It also has an active social web presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, where customers can interact with the bakery and get updates. Moreover, the restaurant runs a daily newsletter with updates of daily menus.
Community Partnerships and Awards
Wicked Island regularly partners with residents in community service initiatives. It is particularly invested in organizing fundraisers for cancer patients via its store, web, and socials and giving customers periodic progress updates.
The bakery won the Best of Nantucket annual award organized by Inky Mirror & Cape Cod Life.
